Fire Alarm

The Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the municipal fire alarm system in the Town of Groton.  All businesses in the Town of Groton which are required by the Fire Code to have a monitored Fire Alarm System must be connected to the municipal system of the Poquonnock Bridge Fire District.  Also, all new roads or residential or commercial area being developed must have street alarm boxes installed. 

To have a business connected to the municipal fire alarm system, the business owner shall submit plans for their building and its fire alarm system, which must meet the requirements of the municipal system.  An Application for service must be submitted and approved.

Fire Alarm Specifications, a specifications receipt form, an application for Fire Alarm Service, and an application flow sheet are included in the Business Forms page of this website.  They are in PDF form and may be downloaded, printed, and filled out by the responsible party for any building desiring a connection to the municipal system.  Please contact the Fire Prevention office at 860-448-1384 with any questions concerning the municipal fire alarm system, or the approval process.
