Board of Directors Regular Meeting Minutes

July 13, 2006

Present:  Vice President Peter Legnos, Clerk Nancy Beckwith, Treasurer Thomas Santacroce, Chief Todd Paige, Deputy Chief Russell Shaw, Fire Marshall Michael Richards and Administrative Assistant Jamie Muhlack.

Absent:  President Ed Welch, Director Joyce Bergeson

At 7:13 the clerk announced the call to order with the time, date and place.  Roll call was taken to establish a quorum.  A moment of silence and a pledge to the flag followed.

MOTION:  It was MOVED, SECONDED and CARRIED to accept the minutes of the Annual Meeting minutes of May 24, 2006 and the regular meeting minutes of June 8, 2006, and passed unanimously.

Remarks from Visitors:

Volunteer John Parfitt welcomed the New Clerk, Nancy Beckwith and presented her with a t-shirt and coffee mug.

Reports and Communications:

Chief Todd Paige’s report was accepted for the record.  Prior to the report acceptance, Vice President Peter Legnos queried the Anthem Dental misquoting the dental plan premium.  Chief Paige explained further the insurance company’s error.  Deputy Chief Russell Shaw issued no formal report but stated that the move for the district office to the Long Hill Fire Station was nearing completion.  Fire Marshal Richard’s report was accepted for the record.  Administrative Assistant Jamie Muhlack report was also presented and accepted for the record.

Unfinished Business

Additional discussion describing the move to the new office was discussed.

New Business

A review of the encumbrance list and carryovers from the 2006 to 2007 budget occurred.

MOTION:  Nancy Beckwith MOVED, SECONDED by Tom Santacroce the encumbrances of $42,510.44  may be spent by the Poquonnock Bridge Fire District, as needed in the Fiscal Year 2006-2007.

Presentation and payment of bills

The treasurer announced that the mills to be paid for June and July, approved by the Vice President are $95,927.08 and $164,166.64 respectively. 

MOTION:  At 7:38, it was MOVED, SECONDED and CARRIED to adjourn.
